He was predeceased by: his mother Carolyn Sue Abner (Erwin); his mother-in-law Mona Hurd; his sister-in-law April Hurd; his close friend Kurt Snell; and his pet Zelda.

He is survived by: his wife Erica Abner; his children, Jordan Kessler (Joshua), Gage Cobb (Lacey Jones), Donovan Cobb, Echoe Rylee Abner (Travis Harris) and Elsie Abner (William Pruitt); his grandchildren, Mylea Jones, Gavin Cobb, Hunter Saunders, Freja Cobb, Desmond Cobb and Cynlee Cobb; his siblings, Jason Abner (Patti) and Michelle Pietz (Kenny); his nieces and nephews, Spark and Julie Hurd; and his friend Marie Travis.

Memorial donations to honor him are suggested to Clay County Cancer Crusaders.
