It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jim Hayes of Flora, Illinois, who passed away on February 21, 2023, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond T. Hayes and Esther Hayes (Moran); his siblings, Dolores Cummins (Wilbur), Thelma Piper, Evelyn Ledbetter (Charlie) and Kenny Hayes; and his brother-in-law Joe Slichenmyer.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Hayes of Flora; his sons, Scott Hayes (Kelly) of Sumner and Chad Hayes of Sumner; his grandchildren, Izabel, Kayla, Lennon, Holden, Drayden, Colton and Payton; his siblings, Jack Hayes (Pat) of Olney, Bob Hayes (Dee) of Bridgeport, Ellen Mortenson (Chuck) of Midwest, Mike Hayes (Sheila) of Sumner and Kathy Slichenmyer of Olney; and his siblings-in-law, Dan Piper of Bridgeport and Penny Hayes of Sumner. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Memorial donations are suggested to either Clay County Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry or Meals on Wheels and will be accepted through the funeral home.
