It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean L. Wassenar of Elmhurst, Illinois, who passed away on October 25, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Robert Wassenar; and her siblings, Evelyn Tazelaar (late Henry) and Charles Zeilstra (Carol). She is survived by: her children, Sharon Eriks (Jack), Sandra Kranenborg (Andrew), Dr. Ronald Wassenar (Cathy) and Linda Norris (Verle); her grandchildren, Lisa Dekker (Mike), Jennifer Eriks (Scott Stebbins), Elizabeth Van Holstyn (Mark), Brian Kranenborg (Miranda), Amy Kranenborg, Steven Kranenborg (Krysta), Rachel Wassenar (late Kyle Huizinga), David Wassenar (Sharon), Drew Norris (Kaitlin), Gretchen Norris and Sarah Norris; her great grandchildren, Annika, Abby, Jacob, Zachary, Max, Olivia, Lucas, Kenna, Kate, Case, Camden, Jasper, Alaina and Henry; and her sister Dorothy Hoff (late Maynard). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
