She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey Trotter and Ellen Trotter; her husband Joseph Nelson Jr.; her son Jim; and her siblings, Joann Flesch (Joe), Jim Trotter and Tom Trotter.

She is survived by: her children, Joe, John (Siobhan), Jeff (Debbie), Jill and Jerry (Heide); her grandchildren, Jessica Palm (Eric), John Nelson, Siobhan Cunningham (Mike), David Nelson (Hanna), Lauren Nelson and Ashley Nelson; her great grandchildren, Lincoln, Sutton, Luke and Ella; and her sister Peggy Gillespie (late Chuck). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
