It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James John Chiste Sr. of Edwardsville, Illinois, born in East Saint Louis, Illinois, who passed away on March 30, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Vitale Chiste and Gisella Chiste (Chiste); his wife Doris Chiste; his daughter Marie Chiste; his granddaughter Christina Digby; his siblings, Adrian Monaghan and Joseph Chiste; his stepson Michael Kienholz; his nephew Stephen Chiste; and his niece Susan McCain.
He is survived by: his daughter DeAnna; his son-in-law David W. Kasich of Edwardsville, Illinois; his son James Chiste Jr.; his grandson David A. Kasich (Molly Killebrew); his great grandchildren, Kendalyn Portz and Brayden Portz; his stepchildren, Holly, John Romann, Lisa and Joe Felisky; his stepgrandchildren, Randy, Deanna Romann, Michael, Amelia Romann, Ryan, Jackie Kienholz, Danielle Kienholz, Kyle Wyatt and Arden Wyatt; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Abigail Kienholz and Archer Kienholz.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
