He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Potter and Betty Potter; his grandson Alex Campen; his brother-in-law Larry Hackett; and his mother-in-law Janice Hackett.

He is survived by: his wife Diana; his daughters, Alicia Potter and Shelby (Matt Martin); his sister Linda (Tom Jackson); and his brother-in-law Rich Hackett. He is also survived by niece and her family, several nephews.
