He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy T. Newell and Eva Newell (Piper); and his wife Darlene Nelson. He is survived by: his daughters, Dianna Tanner (Mark), Jackie Kinsman (Robb) and Michele Combs (Billy); and his sister Bonnie Anderson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Peoria Rescue Mission.
