It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fred A. Darrah of East Peoria, Illinois, born in Peoria, Illinois, who passed away on July 30, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Darrah and Eleanore Darrah (Traicoff); and his brother Terry Trainer. He is survived by: his wife Carol J. Effner; his children, Mike Darrah (Kimberly Degood) of Bartonville, Stephen Darrah (Starris) of Newark, Xuan Tranchitella (Scott) of Bartonville and Tammy Darrah of Columbus, Ohio; his grandchildren, Deidre, Jesse, Dani, Stephanie (Matthew), Jessica (Zack), Maria (Kyle), Brian (Megan), Zach and Hailey; and his great grandchildren, Aubrey, Will, Katelyn and Jacob.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Fred's name to SAMS Rescue, Hanna City or TAPS, Pekin.
