She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Leander and Laura V. Wood (Grove); her husband James Wooden Sr.; and her siblings, Paul Jr., John, James, Margaret, Barbara and Elizabeth.

She is survived by: her children, James W. Wooden (Sonja) of Denver, Jon-Mark Wooden of Columbia, Christopher Wooden of Ashland and Melinda Jacobs (Richard) of East Moline; and her sisters, Mary Jane Fester and Virginia Behrens. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in Joan's memory are suggested to the Louisville United Methodist Church.
