It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Peggy Shewmaker of East Alton, Illinois, born in Tignall, Georgia, who passed away on October 16, 2021, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Boyd Chambers and Alma Chambers (Butler); her granddaughter Kelly Etter; and her siblings, Geraldine Wright and Thomas Chambers.
She is survived by: her husband Louis E. "Bud" Shewmaker; her sons, Tom Lawson (Pam) of Medora and Bill Shewmaker of Alton; and her grandchildren, Shaun, Tracie Lawson, Katie Lawson, Lillian Lawson, Wendy Lawson and Jennifer Shewmaker. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
