With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wilbert Read of Decatur, Illinois, born in Brownsville, Tennessee, who passed away on November 5, 2020 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Read and Fannie Mae Read (Evans); his siblings, Thomas L. Read, James Read, Vassell "Jack" Reed, Carnell Read, Larry Reed, Danny Ray Read and Vertie M. Bates; and his brothers-in-law, Sewell Flagg, Eddie Bates and Elvoy Bullock.

He is survived by: his children, David Earl Bond of Peoria, Danny Hughes and Angela Chaney; his siblings, Juanita Read of Decatur, Shirley Bullock of Detroit, Michigan and James E. Reid (Troy); his grandchildren, Quentin Taylor, Shailond Ridley, Ashley Acedera, Alexis Hughes and Taya Croft; and his sisters-in-law, Cynthia Read, Ruby Reed and Dora Banks (Dennis Bankston). He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
