He was predeceased by: his parents, Aloysius Edward and Clara Mary Kapper (Blank); his wife Charlotte Caroline Weaver; his son Martin Kapper; and his siblings, Wilfred, Matilda Rennier and Teresa Schroll.

He is survived by: his children, Steven Kapper of Decatur, Joseph Kapper of Decatur, Daniel Kapper (Laura) of Decatur, Marjorie Wessel (Rich) of Decatur, Sandra Faith (Ronald) of Decatur, Carol Yoder (Glen) of Sullivan, Ellen Zindel (David) of Decatur and Cynthia Dye (Gary) of Stonington; his daughter-in-law Tammy Kapper of Macon; and his siblings, Pete Kapper (Doris) of Forsyth and Isabelle Blakeman of Decatur. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
