He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Barnes and Nannie Barnes (Knisley); his daughter Pamela Jones; his grandson Chad Richards; and his son-in-law Charles Whitaker.
He is survived by: his wife Doris B. Eaton; his children, Linda Sue Whitaker of Decatur, Cindy Sutman (Don) of Decatur, Vicki Schultz (Ralph) of Decatur and Stanley Barnes (Diane) of Oreana; and his son-in-law Ricky Jones of Decatur.
