He is survived by: his nephew U. L. Newbon; his wife Ardelia Tyus Jelks of Decatur; his daughter Sandra Tyus; his granddaughter Ashley Tyus; his great grandchild Naliyah Tyus Stensby of Lakewood; his sister Lettie Allen of Decatur; and his stepdaughter Sharon Tyus (Sterling S. Miller) of St. Louis. He is also survived by Nieces, Nephews, Grand Nieces, Grand Nephews, Cousins, Brother-In Laws, and Sister-In-Laws.
