He is survived by: his father Martin Apel; his wife Lorelei Apel (Chiarelott); his children, Andrew Apel (Stacey) of Decatur and Kristina Adams (Ryan) of Goshen, Indiana; and his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Carter and Adam. He is also survived by his family and friends, who fondly recall times with him as their father, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend.
