He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Walter and Ora Orleen Derr (Scott); his wife Berniece Hays; and his son Rodney. He is survived by: his daughter Robin Trelz of Decatur; and his stepchildren, Roger Allen of Decatur, Brenda Burwell of Decatur and Cheryl Wiseley (Terry) of Verdigris, OK. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
