With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Merlin Eugene Riley Jr. of Cowden, Illinois, born in Shelbyville, Illinois, who passed away on January 15, 2023 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Merlin Riley, and Wanda Riley, Sr. (Lewis); his wife Debra Bishop; and his son Michael Shannon Riley. He is survived by: his children, Lori Jean Riley of Sigel and Troy Riley of Cowden; his siblings, Eric Riley, Michael Riley, Lola Marie Walker and Trisha Irene West; his stepsister Alta Leona (Jerry-Leon) of Cowden; and his nephews, Jerry Lee Clutter and Cory J. Clutter. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
