He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Nelson and Bessie Mae Martin Nelson; and his siblings, Helen Curtis, Katherine Ussery, Keith Nelson, Kenneth Nelson and Robert Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia McLain of Colchester; his sons, Brent Nelson (Lori) of Laura and Richard Nelson of Macomb; his granddaughters, Ericka Lesley (Branden) and Paige Nelson; and his great grandchildren, Lexie and Jake Lesley. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
