He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar G. Nelson and Janet E. Robb Nelson; and his brother Tony Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Mary Bierhaus; his sons, Ben Nelson (Malissa) of New London and Paul Nelson (Gloria Diggs) of Colchester; his grandchildren, Donovan, Jonothan, Joedon and Noah Nelson; his brother Marty Nelson of Green Forest; and his nieces, Sabrina Nance (Mark) and Melissa Kelly (Andy).
Memorials may be made to the Don Nelson Memorial Fund to be used for his grandchildren's education.
