He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Moffit and Laura S. Moffit (Dodds); and his brothers-in-law, Andrew Dexter and DuWayne Arp. He is survived by: his siblings, Eileen Dexter of Eldridge, Sandy Arp of Durango, Jean Keppy (Glen) of Eldridge and Tom Moffit (Nancee) of LeClaire, Iowa.

Memorials may be made to the Coal Valley Village Fire Department.
