It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darrell Hunwardsen of Coal Valley, Illinois, born in Wheatland, Iowa, who passed away on December 3, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin T. Hunwardsen and Iva Schneider Racster; and his siblings, Carol Eicksteadt, Janet Fenton and William Hunwardsen.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene Baker; his stepdaughters, Karen Delp (Ron) of Coal Valley, IL and Julie Ethridge; his son Thomas Hunwardsen (Darla) of Black Hawk, SD; his grandchildren, Chris Ethridge, Jayson Ethridge, Jay Delp, Jodee Potter, Joel Delp, Peggy Hunwardsen and Jennifer Hunwardsen; and his sister Sue Miller of DuQuoin, IL.. He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.
