He is survived by: his wife Carol Barth; his children, Wendy Lavezzi (Michael McLaren), Susan Glauner (Scott), Christy Ely (Eric), Michael Lavezzi of Diamond and Nick (Faith Christensen) of Braidwood; his granddaughters, Kaitlyn Lavezzi, Lola Lavezzi and Adeline Ely; and his siblings, Florence Bisping (late Glenn) of New Lenox, Dorothy Rys (James) of Rockdale, William Lavezzi (Caryl) and Douglas Lavezzi (Laurel) of New Lenox.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in John's name may be made to the New Hope Presbyterian Church of Coal City or the Alzheimer's Association.
