He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Viano and Catherine "Katie" Viano (Motta). He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his daughters, Mary Jo Enrietta (Mark) of Goose Lake, Cathy Shirtino (Jerry) of Coal City and Debbie Clavin (Brent) of Coal City; his grandchildren, Danielle Valiente (Tyler), Jerry Shirtino, Jr., Aaron Clavin, Luke Clavin and Nicholas Clavin; his brother James "Jim" Viano (Dorene) of Braidwood; his siblings-in-law, Phillip Weidner of Anchorage, Alaska and Phyllis Campbell of Benton City, Washington; and his close friend George Winkel of Morris. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
