It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fred Shelton of Clay City, Illinois, who passed away on June 8, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alonzo L. Shelton and Mildred Ann Shelton (Mugrage); and his siblings, Barbara Shelton, Charlotte Shelton, Freida Taggart (Harold), Loeta Gibbs (Edwin) and Bob Shelton.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Shelton of Clay City; his children, Sheila Strange (Darrell) of Clay City, Randy Shelton of Flora and Dina Hilmes (Hank) of Flora; his grandchildren, Dustin Strange (Jordyn), Silessia Brown, Sonae Shelton and Dalton Hilmes (Beth); and his great grandchildren, Laighlah, Rayna Strange, Qynlin, Quadn Brown, Judson and Hadley Hilmes.
Memorial donations are suggested to Bethel Church, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
