He was predeceased by: his parents, William Everett and Vada Viola Gifford (France); his foster parents, Humphrey Thomas and Evelyn Thomas; and his brothers, Roland, Jerry, Richard and Jessie Gifford.
He is survived by: his wife Eloise Gifford of Clay City; his stepchildren, Norman Phillips of Flora, Janet Weber (Mark) of Flora, Joncia Phillips of Flora, Barbara Gray (Wesley) of Passport and Cathy Pryor (Gary) of Waynesville, Missouri; his stepgrandchildren, Thomas Phillips (Kristal), Daniel Gray (Haley), Crystal Lewis (Zeb), Douglas Gray, Shannon Gray, John Pryor (Allison), Kristin Pryor, Matthew Pryor and Kimberly Pryor; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Mark Phillips, Tanner Roberts, Zaiden Lewis, Azaira Lewis and Ryleigh Gray; his siblings, William "Bill" Gifford of Hillsboro and Julie Gifford; and his pet Darkie.
Memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Hospice and will be accepted through the funeral home.
