He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Backy and Gladys Backy; his wife Nada Trotter; his children, Carla Merkle (Duane) of Champaign, Barb Backy of Champaign, Elizabeth Clark (Robert) of Champaign and James Dente of Tolono; and his brother Basil Backy. He was also cherished by 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
