He was predeceased by: his parents, John P. Arend and Katherine A. Arend (Miller); his wife Doris Betty Arend (Erbe); and his nephew Louie Erbe of Blue Mound, Illinois.. He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Barbara Oesch of Dalton City, Kathy Knecht of Decatur, Illinois, Charles Erbe of Moweaqua and Kenneth Erbe of Pana, Illinois; and his close friends, Ron, Marilyn Mitchell, Bill Bryant and Jeanette Storck.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in John's honor to the Centralia VFW Post 2055 or the American Legion Post 446 and these contributions will be accepted at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia.
