We are sad to announce that on April 18, 2022, at the age of 98, Maxine Pulver Bennett of Carthage, Illinois passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Maxine Pulver Bennett to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Warner and Alma Elizabeth Warner (Guilliams); her husband Robert Bennett; her stepmother Viola Hamm Warner; and her siblings, William Howard, Lewis E., Ronald "Bud" Warner, Evelyn Derry and Gerry Warner.

She is survived by: her former spouse Gene Smothers; her children, Robert Smothers (Katherine) of Bellevue and Connie Jo Smith of Ft. Collins, Colorado; her grandchildren, Kristi Wear, Becca Copeland, Brooke Wear, Joe Smothers, Deb Foxen, Alison Smith-Leuthi (Nick) and Stephanie McKinley; her great grandchildren, Jake Smothers, Joey and Jaden Anderson; her sister Martha Lee Ulmer of Macomb; and her nieces, Peggy Randall of Quincy, Deanne Brooks of Carthage and Carla Warner of Warsaw. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials may be directed to the Carthage Primary School in Carthage for reading interventions for the students or Hickory Grove Assisted Living for the sunroom project.
