She was predeceased by: her parents, James Alva "Coley" and Mabel Heflin (Fletcher); her husband Robert "Bob" Stearns; and her brothers, Hubert "Buck" Heflin and Jim Heflin.
She is survived by: her stepchildren, Fred Stearns (Paula), Gary Stearns (Violet), Donna Fulmer (John) and Cynthia Popejoy (Mark); her siblings, Judy Price and Jean Adkisson; her sister-in-law Becky Heflin; and her pet Snippet. She is also survived by twelve step-grandchildren; twenty-one step-great grandchildren; three step-great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of love may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; Muscular Dystrophy Association; Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and/or the Donor's Choice.
