He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Benson O'Dell II and Olive "Sis" Isom (Thompson-O'Dell). He is survived by: his wife Susan O'Dell (Ellis); his children, Sarah Ford (Jim) of Cambria, Edward O'Dell IV (Jill) of Carbondale and Aaron O'Dell (Courtney) of Carbondale; his grandchildren, Taryn Ford, Emilyn Ford, Adam Mays, Jacy Mays, Carter O'Dell, Avery O'Dell, Bradley O'Dell and Addison O'Dell; his sisters, Pat Stearns (Dale), Linda Robinson (Jerry) and Sharon Rawls (Jeff); and his nieces and nephews, Pam Brown (Michael), Jeff Stearns (Cassie), Ed Robinson (Jen), Leo Robinson (Melissa), Kent Rawls (Josie) and Tori Rawls. He is also survived by relatives and friends.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Francis Care-Community Animal Rescue 6228 Country Club Road, Murphysboro, Illinois 62966.
