He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Mendenhall and Pauline Mendenhall (Wilborn); his wife Joann Etherton; and his children, Diana Gass and Dale Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Donna Mendenhall and Dean Mendenhall of Buffalo; and his son-in-law Mike Gass. He is also survived by two grandsons; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
