He was predeceased by: his parents, Orval Shurtz and Edna Shurtz; his daughter Rondell Shurtz; his stepson Michael Daiber; and his siblings, Bill Shurtz and Jean Wickstrom.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Shurtz, Troy Shurtz, Ryan Shurtz and Rayce Shurtz; his stepchildren, Tracy Schuster, Kristopher Deien (Chrissy) and Rebecca Deien; his grandchildren, Kanyon and Kira Shurtz; his stepgrandchildren, Michael, Brooke, Kristine, Brandon, Aemilia, Jaylynn Daiber, Aaliyah, Tarik Tibbs, Heather, Mackenzie, Matthew Schuster, Tyler, Kaylee Deien, Jerneshia and Lou Deien; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Nova, Aurora, Avery and Arie.
Memorials in honor of Roger may be made to the wishes of the family (checks payable to Jackie Shurtz) and will be received by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N 5th St., Breese, IL 62230, which is serving the family.
