“I’m Ron’s cousin on his Mom Irene’s side. I had the privilege of spending many Saturdays during my early teens with Ron at his aunts Jesse and Florence and Uncle Fred’s house in Roseland. Ron was a big influence on me both personally and musically. As I type this I swear I can hear Ron’s laugh. He had an infectious laugh and laughed easily. These are traits of the best human beings. I owe Ron a debt of gratitude for getting me started in music by asking me to join a band when I did not even play an instrument at the time. I ultimately chose the guitar which became the passion of my life to this day. I tried calling him recently knowing he was ill but not knowing how ill.
