He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen M. Bellas and Irene E. Bellas (Shimko); his wife Louise; and his siblings, Jack Bellas of Monterey Park, CA, Alice Santora of Monterey Park, CA, Irene Bellas of Tomhicken, PA, Elizabeth Bellas and Stephen Bellas of Tomhicken, PA.

He is survived by: his children, Christine Bellas (Quinn Loucks) of Mercer Island, WA, Ralph Bellas, Jr. (Connie) of Stanford, IL, Marcia Bellas (Rick West) of Worcester, VT, Gregory Bellas (Kirsten Setterholm) of Berkeley, CA, Kimberly Bellas (Benoit Nault) of Tucson, AZ and Laurence Bellas (Susan) of Erie, CO; and his grandchildren, Nathan Giles, Ryan Giles, Eric Bellas (Angie) of Bloomington, IL, Adam Bellas (Katie), Justin Bellas (Cassie) of Stanford, IL and Maiya Loucks (Casey Madayag) of Lynnwood, WA. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donations in Ralph's memory may be made to the Ralph and Louise Bellas Scholarship Fund to support students in international nursing exchanges. Checks made payable to I.S.U. “Ralph was my Romantics professor . He was so inspiring I thought I’d surely become a Romanticist. Like few things these days, his class remains indelible. He was a wonderful colleague and he and Louise were dear dear friends for decades. They were truly good people and kind in so many ways. We shared the best of times and though deeply saddened I shall remember them always with love. My deepest condolences and hopes that good memories shall soon bring smiles . Victoria F Harris”
