She was predeceased by: her parents, Abraham Brown and Blanche Brown (Meredith); her husband James Peifer; her stepchildren, Margie and William "Bill"; and her siblings, Virginia, Marilyn, Edward, Oscar and William.

She is survived by: her children, Avis Atkins (Garrie) and George Peifer; her grandchildren, Mysty Vaughn, Sarah Peifer and Dana Peifer; her stepgrandchildren, Rayeann Mayer, Jim McCormick and Mitch McCormick; her great grandchildren, Aidan Vaughn and Liam Vaughn; and her brothers, Jimmy Brown and Abraham Brown Jr..

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA.
