She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Paul Peter Schertz and Mildred Elizabeth Jones Schertz; her sons, Lindsey (Maristela) of Cornelius, NC, Blakely (Kathleen) of Eagle, ID, Samuel (Beth Ann) of Danvers, IL and Stanley (Dilara) of Mercer Island, WA; her grandchildren, Tracy, Andrea, Emily, Tyler, Sean, Thomas, Joshua, Ethan, Alanna and Sophia; her great grandchildren, Porter, Logan, Bowen, Isaac and Bennett; her siblings, Marian Hartzold, Ken Schertz (Anita) and Steve Schertz (Diane); and her husband Richard A. Deal. She was also cherished by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Community Health Care Clinic (Normal, IL) or The Community Cancer Center (Normal, IL).
