With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Cheryl Herman of Benton, Illinois, who passed away on July 27, 2023 at the age of 66. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, George Loren Carter and Geneva Carter (Doty); her grandchildren, Hayden and Hayley Herman; and her siblings, Joe Atteberry (Judy) and Lois Aaron (Jerry).

She is survived by: her husband Thomas Scott Herman of Benton, Illinois; her children, Chris Herman (Amy) of Makanda, Taryn Herman (Miles Burns) of Portsmouth and Patrick Herman (Randa) of Herrin, Illinois; her grandchildren, Clayton Sapp, Colton Sapp, Violet Burns, Harper Burns, Evie Herman and Benjamin Herman; her brother Lanny Atteberry (Gloria) of Sandia, Texas; and her sister-in-law Kathy Reno of Ossining.

The family prefers Memorial contributions, in memory of Cheryl, be made to the Town and Country Gardeners; and will be accepted at the services on Wednesday.
