He was predeceased by: his parents, John Solis and Clara Solis; his parents-in-law, Einar and Margaret Berg; his siblings, John "Red", Walter, Ed Solis, Clara Wilson and Bernice "Bernie" Karas; and his siblings-in-law, Bill Jardis, Bob Karas, Ross Sullinger, Rosemary Solis, Alice Solis and Shirley Solis.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Berg; his daughters, Christina Meyer (Jerry), Melissa Buehler (Shawn) and Sarah Hanson (James); his grandchildren, Erik, Iain, Elizabeth Buehler, Lenny and Charlie Hanson; his siblings, Francis Solis (Ilene), Ben Solis (Laura), Richard Solis (Judy), Marie Wolkenhaeur (Bill) and Helen Jardis; and his brother-in-law Gordon Wilson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
