He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph W. Eckmann and Margaret L. Eckmann (Everhart); his siblings, Ruthanne Eckmann and David K. Eckmann; his son Jason T. Eckmann; his niece Judi L. Eckmann; and his granddaughter Hope H. Lange (Riley Eckmann).

He is survived by: his daughters, Tina Miller (Chapen) of Caseyville, Illinois and Stephanie Eckmann (L. A. Lange) of Fairview Heights, Illinois.; his siblings, Charles "Chuck" Eckmann (Janice) and Susanne "Sue" Lowery; his nephews, Mike, Kyle, Eric, Joshua and Jacob; his niece Robin; his grandchildren, Blaine, Kaleb, Ryder, Alayna and Phoenix; and his great grandchildren, Aiden, Logan, Ambelina, Jackson and Ember. He is also survived by great-nieces and nephews and many close friends.
