He is survived by : his wife Kathleen "Kathy" Gates (Allway); his children, James J. Gates (Sarah) and Jennifer Meyer (Tim); his grandchildren, Susan Riefke (Rich), Cody Gates (Kaity), Allison McLoughlin (Flint) and Samatha Meyer; and his great grandchildren, Mary, Wesley, Ricky, Emersyn and Helen.
