With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Lou Thompson of Altamont, Illinois, born in Hillview, Illinois, who passed away on November 21, 2023 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Archie Earl Dawdy and Velma F. Dawdy (Garner); her husband Alvis L. "Al" Thompson; her daughter Brenda Joyce Mariner; and her stepdaughter Janet Bacon.

She is survived by: her children, John Mariner, Jr. (Phyllis) of Divernon, Archie "Bill" Mariner (Stephanie) of Colorado, Joe Mariner of Decatur and Vicky Jarvis (Mark) of Pekin; her stepchildren, Carol Kleister (Harold) of La Port, IN, Katherine Tilson (Gary) of Davenport, IA, Ronald A. Thompson of Ft. Myers, Florida and Judith K. Roberson (Lonnie) of Florida; and her sister Judy Dawdy Mullins of Decatur. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
