He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Batson and Dora Ellen Batson (McCullough); his grandson Bradley Cozadd; his grandson-in-law Tom Craig; and his brothers, Joseph "Art" Batson, Harry Batson and Robert Batson.
He is survived by: his wife Joanne; his daughters, Kimberly Robinson of Abingdon, Terri of Abingdon, Way of Abingdon, Cindy of Abingdon and Roxanne of Abingdon; his grandchildren, Angie Craig, Christopher Heiser, Kelly, Norris, Anthony, Way, Amy, Kalas, Amanda Hagerty and Tara Hawk; and his siblings, Chuck, Ken, Avon, Betty Gordon of Abingdon, Shirley Blodgett of Abingdon, Mary Jo Russo of Abingdon and Emma Lou "Patsy" (Lambert). He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
