He was predeceased by: his parents, Raeola Jensen and Douglas McFarland Rhead. He is survived by: his wife Donnetta Neilsen Rhead of Rexburg; his daughters, Audrey Caldwell (Troy) of Tremonton and Angela Tillery (Tyler) of Idaho Falls; his siblings, Ron Rhead (Diana), Kent Rhead (Mary Jo), Linda Rasmussen, Sandra Robbins (Kevin), Richard Rhead (Cindy), Stephen Rhead, Debbie Rhead, Ronda Johnson and Kevin Rhead (Lois); and his mother-in-law Thelma Neilson. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren.
