He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Van Pelt and Reina Worthington Van Pelt; his brothers, Albert, Allen Van Pelt and Kenneth Van Pelt; and his nephew Allen Van Pelt.
He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Derstine Van Pelt; his children, Todd Van Pelt (Stacey) of Perkasie, Pennsylvania and Kim Thompson (Seth) of Hot Springs; his grandchildren, Ashley Dufrane, Benjamin Van Pelt, Jeffrey Van Pelt and Nate Thompson; and his great grandchild Jaxon Dicesare.
