He is survived by: his wife June Knowles; his children, Elizabeth Schmitz (Jefre Schmitz), Charles Jr. (Julie Knowles) and James; his grandchildren, Justin Knowles (Marsha), Logan Knowles and Sierra Knowles; his great grandchildren, Heather and Sarah Knowles; and his sister Charlotte May (Donald).
