She was predeceased by: her parents, William E. McCalmant and Ruth McCalmant (Parsons); her husbands, David Harris Phelps of James Berry, II and Duane Mere; her children, Betty Phelps, Diane Smith and James Berry III; and her siblings, George, Robert, Charles, Vernon, Ivan, William, John, Donna and Verna.

She is survived by: her children, Ruth Thomsen, Brenda Farrington, Tracey Blades, David Phelps and Jack Berry; and her siblings, Benjamin McCalmant and Thelma Rohlena. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
