He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice John, Sr. and Bertha Elizabeth Kaltefleiter (Kramer); and his brother-in-law Laverne Olson. He is survived by: his former wife Marlene Mary Lampe; his children, Roger Kaltefleiter (Elaine) of Parkville, Lisa Hawes (Randy) of Donnellson and Tori Abolt (Jamey Reinier) of Iowa City, Iowa; his grandchildren, Jacob Kaltefleiter, Katrina Kaltefleiter, Ty Kaltefleiter, Erin Keefe (Cody), Eli Hawes (Martha) and Denver Abolt; his great grandchildren, Finley, Ruxin and Eliza; his sister Dolores "Cotton" Olson of Franklin, Iowa; and also Marty Abolt. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial has been established in his memory for Every Step Hospice.
