She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Boyles and Geraldine Boyles (Halgren); and her son John "B. J.". She is survived by: her husband Jerry Cook; her sons, Matthew Cook (Jenny) of Cedar Rapids and James Cook (Stephanie) of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Lindsey Peterson (Dane), Zac Hornung (Erin) and Zach Cook; and her siblings, Gary Boyles of Marion, Beverly Schwarting (Richard) of Williamsburg, Glenda Ferguson of Marion, Cheryl Dlouhy (John) of Marion, Dixie Bierschenk of Vinton, Joyce Wyckoff (Richard) of Urbana, Roseann Olmstead, Bonnie Doehrmann and Rosemary. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Easter Seals.
