We are sad to announce that on December 20, 2021, at the age of 96, Joan Van Gorp of Sioux Center, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John A. Roekel and Gertie Van Roekel (Van Stryland); her husband Philip Van Gorp; her son-in-law James Walburg; her siblings, Nancy Horn (John), Albert Van Roekel (Marie), Gertrude Vander Lee (Tunis), Mina Harman (Howard), Abe J. and Hennrietta Ferwerda (Dale); and her parents-in-law, Lois Rensink (Cornie), Marvin Van Gorp (Gert), Earl Van Gorp (Wilma) and Albert Van Gorp (Dorothy).
She is survived by: her daughters, Phyllis Walburg (late James) of Spirit Lake, IA, Joyce Bruxvoort (Orv) of Orange City, IA, Janice Jans (Ben) of Sioux Center, IA and Karen Buyert (Garvin) of Rock Valley, IA; her grandchildren, Michelle Kremer (Greg Thilges) of Estherville, IA, Lynn Jorgensen (John) of Hill City, SD, Kari Morales (Adir) of Tea, SD, Laurie Steinkuehler of Spencer, IA, Darren Bruxvoort of Colorado Springs, CO, Eric Bruxvoort (Wanda) of Sac City, IA, Christie Conover (Jon) of Orange City, IA, Brian Jans (Holli) of Sioux Falls, SD, Adam Buyert of Rock Valley, IA and Amber Van Driel (Michael) of Rock Valley, IA; and her sisters-in-law, Eunice Van Der (Don) and Albertha "Bert" Roetman of Sioux Falls, SD. She is also survived by thirty great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
