She was predeceased by: her parents, Simon Menning and Dena Menning (TeGrotenhuis); her former husband Dennis Raak; and her siblings, Virgil, Harold, Marion, Norman Menning, Esther Boone, Sylvia Hornsby and Evelyn Brink.
She is survived by: her friend Dennis; her husband Ed Scholten of Sioux Center, IA; her children, David Raak (Julie) of Ryan, IA, Marlene Raak of Orange City, IA, Lora Haug (Roger) of Pella, IA, Sandy Langstraat (Roger) of Mesa, AZ and Rachel Gunderson (Lynn) of Jefferson, IA; her stepchildren, Natalie Brummel (Ed), Betty Vande Griend (Roger), Donna Vander Ark (Glen), Lorna Dykstra (Dennis), Deb Moret (Harlan) and Ed Scholten (Lanae); her sister Arlene Brown; her sister-in-law Fannie Menning; and also, David, Marlene, Lora, Sandy and Rachel. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
